Run to the Roar – An Old Story from Africa (You Don’t Want to Learn the Hard Way)

Lions hunt in packs. When they go out to hunt, they bring along the oldest female in the pride.

By this point, she’s old, frail, and toothless—no longer able to catch her own prey.

But she has the deepest roar. And here’s the trick: the lionesses, who are the real hunters, position this old lioness in the middle of a field, facing the bush.

The bush could be a mile away, and the prey is stuck between the old lioness and the bush, where all the other lionesses hide.

When the old lioness lets out her roar, the prey instinctively runs away from the sound—straight into the waiting lionesses. They flee right into their death.

“Run toward the roar.”

Go straight at what you think is the problem. More often than not, you’ll find it’s just a toothless old lioness.

I enjoyed listening to the story.

That is it for today, take it easy until next time.
