"When an elder person dies, a village library burns to the ground."- African proverb.

African wisdom is in oral form and the village elders are the chief guardians of it.

Queen Elizabeth II, elder citizen of the global village passed away after 70 years on the throne, it is akin to timeless university burned to the ground.

Regardless of one's opinion of monarchy, birth in the royal family was not her choice, circumstances made her the Queen, she was the symbol of stability through ups and down to her family, her nation and the wider world.

We can all learn from her life.

Queen Elizabeth II was not the domineering macho leader delivering rousing speeches to rally the troops. Her Majesty's sheer presence was enough to reassure her subjects in time of crisis. Her quiet, restrained demeanour guided United Kingdom through a period of extraordinary social change.

She proved that leadership style does not have a type, it comes in all genders, shapes, sizes and colours. Positive impact matters more than the style.

It is always lonely at the top. Queen Elizabeth II might have experienced loneliness but she provided a safe sanctuary to the world leaders, they could discuss anything with her with utmost confidence.

Queen Elizabeth II met with 15 Prime ministers from Winston Churchill to Liz Truss for weekly private "audience". Prime Ministers relied on her deep wisdom and historical understanding to navigate the messy world.

Her Majesty was the finest "Executive Coach" and Buckingham Palace was the top school for diplomatic leadership.

One may not associate Boris Johnson or Twitter with Queen's personality, but the the best tribute was a deep heart felt message from Boris Johnson in Twitter.

Perhaps the best line in Boris Johnson's tribute message was "This is our country's saddest day because she had a unique and simple power to makes us happy".

She sure was unique but the power to make others happy is not simple.

Thank you.
